Birmingham City Council requires a supplier for the provision of the development and delivery of a social marketing campaign to increase uptake of the NHS Health Checks programme across the city among eligible individuals aged 40 to 74 years old. The NHS Health Check is one of the mandated public health services commissioned by Birmingham City Council. It is a health check-up for adults in England aged 40 to 74 years and is designed to spot early signs of: • stroke • kidney disease • heart disease • type 2 diabetes • dementia Anyone in this age range who does not have a pre-existing health condition should be invited to an NHS Health Check by their GP every 5 years. However, uptake of these checks remains low. In Birmingham in 2018 to 2019, 85,514 people were offered an NHS Health Check, of which 33,327 people took up the opportunity to have one.
