Medway Council (‘the Authority’) is a unitary authority based in Kent, consisting of the main towns of Strood, Rochester, Chatham, Gillingham, and Rainham. The highway network in the Medway towns covers approximately 840km, with 110km of A roads, 37km of B roads, 97km of C road, and 596km of unclassified roads. A safe and effective transport network is therefore key to Medway’s sustainability, both economically and environmentally. To help achieve this the Council are inviting applications to join Medway Council’s Road Safety Audit Framework (MCRSAF). The MCRSAF will allow the Authority, as the Overseeing Organisation, to quickly and efficiently commission an outside contractor to undertake road safety audits on behalf of the Authority for highway schemes and interventions.
